TRUE STORIES OF MIGRATION AND HEALTH

The World Health Organisation has launched a series of live streamed panels exploring refugee and migrant health and well-being. The first webinar, was titled “True stories: effective advocacy for health and migration”, and focused on the importance of responsible, meaningful and compelling communications efforts to evoke positive change for migrants, refugees and host communities. This live session included leading experts in the diverse fields of medicine, arts, anthropology and museum education. The session was moderated by Salford University Science Communication Lecturer, Dr Erinma Ochu.

The Panel included:

Bernadette Kumar, Director of the Norwegian Center for Migration and Minority Health (NAKMI) and Associate Professor in Global Health at the University of Oslo, Norway;

Domenico Sergi, Curator and Community Engagement Coordinator, Horniman Museum and Gardens, United Kingdom; 

Mahboobeh Rajabi, Digital Artist, Community Arts North West and MIF Jerwood Fellow, United Kingdom; 

It was organised by Santino Severoni, WHO, Coordinator, Regional Office for Europe Coordinator health and migration; Jozef, Bartovic, Technical Officer (Migration and Health), WHO Regional Office for Europe and Nils Fietje, WHO, Research Officer, WHO Regional Office for Europe.
